Monthly Favorites – July
How has summer already practically over? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fall/winter girl all the way, so I’m like good riddance. But it feels like this month has whipped by and I was not prepared. I’ve been mixing up a lot of my skincare and beauty regimen, so I’m excited to share these new developments with you in upcoming posts! But without any more delay, let’s get into my July beauty favorites!
My Favorite Products from the Month of July:
Colourpop Yes, Please palette: If my July beauty favorites consisted of one product, it would be this one. This is definitely a much cheaper dupe for the Natasha Denona Sunset palette (You’ll save $100+). Colourpop has majorly stepped up their game. I love their liquid lips and their Super Shock shadows (Check out my review of 34 of their products here!), but this is on another level. I’m pale, so the only thing that’s missing in here is an inner corner highlight for me, but if you have a deeper skin tone, that first shade will be perfect for that. These blend like a dream and the pigment is crazy amazing. The $16 price doesn’t hurt either!
L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara: L’Oreal isn’t fooling anyone if they try to say it’s not supposed to look just like it’s a dupe for the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara with that packaging. I almost never recommend mascaras. To be honest, I’ve always felt that mascara is mascara. There are ones that definitely are horrible and clumpy, but the rest are fine. This surprised me, which is why it’s in my July beauty favorites! The wand is great, the formula is really impressive, and it’s drugstore! YES MA’AM.
NYX Matte Finish setting spray: So I’d been on the hunt to find a long-lasting setting spray from the drugstore, and a friend of mine recommended the Wet n Wild PhotoFocus setting spray. But I had the most horrific allergic reaction to it. I’ve never reacted that harshly to a setting spray. So I picked this one up after my skin calmed down and I’m loving it. I would say it’s just as good as my Urban Decay All Nighter. The mist is really fine, there isn’t a nasty residual smell, and my makeup stays in place. (Which is the goal since I tend to get oily as the day goes on)
LUSH Eau Roma Water toner: I’ve never been a toner girl… like ever. I feel like it’s one of those steps that you either think is the most important or you completely skip. I have combo skin, but no matter what I tried, toners would irritate and completely dry my skin out. This is the first one ever that I’ve loved. The Eau Roma Water is actually geared for dry, sensitive, or mature skin. (I would put myself into the sensitive category) It’s amazing. It only has two active ingredients – rose water and lavender. And my skin has been LOVING this! A++ to LUSH for convincing me to add toner to my skincare routine.
TwinMedix Pro Essentials O2 cleanser: I’m not going to lie to you, the price point on this is really high. Does it work? Absolutely. It’s the weirdest cleanser I’ve ever used, but my face feels softer than a baby’s bottom after lotion. When this is applied, it starts to bubble up, giving your skin a surge of oxygen which helps clean out your pores. Then it completely disappears. I’m sorry, WHAT? Not kidding. It’s a clear gel that turns white when it bubbles up, and then all of the bubbles completely disappear, leaving a thin film that you rinse off.
So that’s it for my favorites for the month of July! Be sure to leave me some recommendations of what you’d like for me to try out next! 🙂
