Current Beauty Favorites – Hair
I decided to do something a bit different this month. Rather than dedicating a post to my favorite products for the month of September, I wanted to combine and do a current beauty favorites series for my favorite beauty products in hair care, skincare, and makeup. This way I can share all of the products that I have been loving for a long time, which I feel is way more helpful, as it’s so easy to fall in and out of love with beauty products.
So without further ado, these are my current beauty favorites and obsessions for taking care of my hair:
My Current Beauty Favorites
Leave-in Conditioner: Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray
I wrote an entire post about why this is my ride or die leave-in conditioner back in March (check it out here), and all of those reasons still ring true today. I have repurchased this about 4 times and I use it following every single shower. It uses a blend of rosehip, argan, and coconut oils, and it does not have sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, DEA, or synthetic dyes. It’s also cruelty-free, vegan, and gluten-free. Check it out here.
Dry Shampoo: Batiste Hint of Color Dry Shampoo
This is a holy grail product for anyone whose hair gets oily by day 2. One of the worst parts about dry shampoo is the white caste it gives your hair, and if you have curly hair, good luck getting that white product to disperse and not make you look 90. This dry shampoo is so affordable, it leaves you sans old lady hair, and it disperses better than some high-end dry shampoos. Check it out here.
Hair Mask: Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask
I’m also a fan of the Briogeo “Don’t Despair, Repair” conditioning mask (check it out here), but this one by Moroccanoil is definitely the one I’m going through the fastest. My hair feels so soft and healthy after I step out of the shower when I’ve used this mask. Note: put this in, then shave or exfoliate your body while you wait before rinsing it out. Otherwise you may get a bit bored. Check it out here.
Scalp Detox/Scrub: Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub
All. Of. The. YES. This product is beyond worth the price tag. The best piece of advice I can give when using this is to use it on the days you have a ton of build-up from dry shampoo. Only take a dime size amount into your hand, hold it under the water and then rub between your fingers before massaging into the scalp. It will last months of if you use that trick, and you will love it. Check it out here.
Smoothing Cream: IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel
If you let your hair air dry like I do, this is the best cream in the world to tame frizz without weighing your hair down or making it look greasy. If you do like to blow dry your hair, a great tip is to use this when you get out of the shower, start getting ready so your hair has the chance to partially air dry, then blow dry it for that sleek and healthy look without frying your hair. Check it out here.
Curling Wand: Lee Stafford Chopstick Ceramic Curling Wand
I had to deal with a lot of frizz during Atlanta’s humid summer, so I’m pretty sure I’m only going to become more obsessed with this in the fall and winter months. The barrel is square and really small, and it doesn’t have a clip, which keeps me sane. You can definitely make your hairstyle as crazy or as toned down as you want, and on the second/third day you’re still rocking those 80s corkscrew curls. Check it out here.
So that’s it! These are all of the products I love to use on my hair and that I would highly recommend if you’re in the market for some new products. Stay tuned for my next posts in this series, including my current beauty favorites for my skin as well as for my makeup routine. Until next time!
