10 Hygiene Products That Every Girl Needs

Can I get an “Amen!” that it’s hard being a lady? In all honesty, I struggle to human some days, which makes being female that much more difficult. But I always say, “the more put together the woman, the more I need to know what she’s using every day.” Here’s a little insight into my top 10 hygiene products that I’m constantly recommending to friends/family/strangers on the street…

10 Hygiene Products Every Girl Needs

LUSH Mint Julips Lip Scrub

Hands down, this is my favorite lip exfoliant. I use it multiple times a week to exfoliate my lips so anything from my chapstick to my liquid lipstick goes on smoothly. Keep in mind that your lips need to be exfoliated and moisturized often, and unlike what I thought, cold weather doesn’t mean you shouldn’t exfoliate. (On the contrary!) I love this lip scrub from LUSH because it’s a natural sugar scrub (so you can eat it afterwards) and it uses vanilla and jojoba oil to seal in moisture. Check it out here.

Naples Sun-Kissed Sea Salt Scrub

I raved about this scrub back in my 2017 May Favorites post, and I still stand by this product. What I love about this stuff is that it’s got that salty-sandy texture that exfoliates beautifully, but it also has shea butter and oils infused into the formula to keep your skin hydrated. The scent is strong, which usually would bother me, but this one is amazing and I love that it lingers on the skin. I use this especially on my feet since I wear heels so often. Check it out here.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Infused with guaraná and a blend of extraordinarily nourishing cupuaçu butter, antioxidant powerhouse açaí, and super-conditioning coconut oil, this cream is one of the most amazing moisturizers on the market. It has a cult following for a reason — the formula absorbs into the skin quickly and leaves it freakishly smooth, tightened (yes, tightened) and hydrated. It does leave a slight scent, but unless you have a problem with smelling all coconutty (apologies for the FRIENDS reference)… in which case, you’re on your own. Check it out here.

Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt

I’m a huge fan of adding Dr. Teal’s Lavender Soothe & Sleep to every bath. (Typically I add about a cup and then stir it as the water finishes filling the tub) It combines the benefits of epsom salt for relieving aches and pains with lavender to soothe the body and mind. It also doesn’t hurt that it comes in a huge bag and is so wallet-friendly. The Epsom Salt Council has some of my favorite DIY recipes, like this one for DIY Pumpkin Spice Beauty Treatments. Check it out here.

Sweet Dreams Satin Pillowcases

Do your hair and skin a favor and order a satin pillowcase. Unlike cotton pillowcases, satin ones don’t hold onto the dust and dirt that causes you to break out. They also help prevent hair breakage, tangles, and frizz. I got mine and Joseph’s in champagne to match the majority of our bedding, but they have almost any color you could want. Check it out here.

Oral-B Vitality Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush

Maintaining good dental hygiene doesn’t have to cost a fortune. What I love about this toothbrush is that it has bristles to also mimic flossing for twice the cleaning. (Don’t skip out on flossing though!) Joseph and I each have one of these and we’re in love. Check it out here.

If you’re in the market for other hygiene items in between dental cleanings, I’d also recommend these tools by Stardust, which are the same as what the dentist uses. For me personally, they’re so helpful to prevent plaque in between cleanings. Just make sure you have a steady hand!

Sway Underarm Detox

Ditch the toxic deodorants. I have to say I’m relieved that there is finally an all-natural deodorant that actually works and doesn’t feel greasy or streak on your clothing. If you’re looking to take the plunge into natural deodorant, this apple cider vinegar detox is perfect to help you transition into (or potentially just switch to) non-toxic deodorants. There is also a powder that you can dust over after the deodorant to help it last all day without needing to reapply. Check it out here.

EO Organic Deodorant Wipes

Speaking of, these are a must in the summer (or for any of you who get a little sticky when put on the spot). Pop a couple of these in your purse, and you can be sure you won’t be making anyone wince if they get too close at your next job interview/date/meet the parents outing. My favorite is Tea Tree because it’s a stronger scent to remind me (and others) that I’m fresh. Check it out here.

Toilies

It’s a portable bathroom freshener… because… well, you know. When you go to the facilities at your significant other’s/at a party/etc, just open a pack and drop into the water. Once it makes contact with the water’s surface, the product dissolves and creates a discreet-in-scent barrier that traps nasty odors using a blend of essential oils. Check it out here.

Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove

For those of you out there that dread washing your makeup brushes (for the love of all things good, please tell me you WASH your brushes), this is cleaning goals. The key to why I love this glove is the amount of areas with different grooves to get to every nook and cranny for every brush in your collection. The silicone material also means that it won’t get rank like cotton cloths. (Pro tip: make sure you air-dry your brushes when done) Check it out here.

Those are my top 10 hygiene products — what are your favorite hygiene products that get you through the week?? Most of these I have stashed in my purse (sans epsom salt obviously), mostly because if I find it a personal failure if I carry around such a heavy bag and I’m not prepared. Just call me Mary Poppins!
